An illegal immigrant in Knoxville has been charged with two counts of identity theft.
The inmate roster for the Knox County Sheriff’s Office shows that 61-year-old Pablo Homero Lanza-Mejia was booked in the jail on September 20. He is facing two felony charges of identity theft.
Records show that Lanza-Mejia also has an immigration detainer hold, meaning he is in the country illegally and Immigration and Customs Enforcement intends to assume custody of him.
He is currently scheduled to appear in court on October 2 for a preliminary hearing.
